Celebrating Gwendon’s Place Among the Best in North Wales
We’re thrilled to share that Gwendon Holiday Home, our much-loved Anglesey self-catering accommodation, was named a finalist in the Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year category at the Go North Wales Tourism Awards 2025.
To be recognised among so many outstanding holiday homes and tourism businesses across North Wales is something we’re incredibly proud of. The awards celebrate the very best of the region – from local attractions to family-run stays – and being shortlisted as a finalist is a huge honour for us.
A Celebration of What Makes Gwendon Special

This recognition reflects everything we’ve built at Gwendon Holiday Home Anglesey: a stylish, comfortable bungalow with sea views, a large enclosed garden and a truly dog-friendly holiday cottage experience. Our focus has always been on genuine hospitality, attention to detail and giving guests a place that feels like a “home from home.”
From our personal pre-arrival calls to our thoughtful welcome touches and digital guidebook packed with local recommendations, we aim to make every stay as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Putting Dogs (and Their Owners) First

Having been proud dog owners ourselves, we’ve made Gwendon a truly dog-friendly place to stay on Anglesey. With our enclosed south-facing garden, retractable outdoor hoses for sandy paws, dog hampers, first-aid kits and our famous “Woof Wall of Fame”, every pet guest is as welcome as their humans. Around 80% of our visitors bring their dogs – and we love knowing their tails wag when they arrive!
Supporting the Local Anglesey Community
We’re passionate about championing local businesses. Through our digital guidebook and social media, we share our favourite dog-friendly cafés, pubs, beaches and walking routes, helping guests discover the best of Anglesey while supporting our local economy.

Committed to Sustainability
We want future guests (and their four-legged friends) to enjoy Anglesey’s beauty for years to come. That’s why we’ve invested in solar panels with battery storage, an EV charger, energy-efficient appliances and comprehensive recycling facilities – all helping us reduce our carbon footprint and operate more sustainably.

Thank You to Our Guests

This award shortlisting wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing guests, who share photos, leave glowing 5-star reviews and recommend Gwendon to friends and family. Your support has helped us grow from a local idea into one of Anglesey’s most loved self-catering holiday cottages.
Even though we didn’t take home the top spot this time, we’re so proud to have been recognised as a finalist, and even prouder of the experiences we’ve created together.
Spoiler Alert …
As we look ahead to closing our doors to guests in September 2026 (when Gwendon becomes our forever home), we’ll continue welcoming visitors who want to enjoy this special corner of Anglesey one last time. More on this in our Christmas VIP Newsletter. You can sign up to our VIP Club at the bottom of the page.
There’s still time to book your stay directly with us and enjoy everything that makes Gwendon so special – sea views, sunsets, and those wagging tails in the garden.
Thank you for being part of our story – and for helping make Gwendon what it is today. 🐾
